Succesful Panel at EuARe 2026
Our DFG project “Social Ethics of the International Recruitment of Health Professionals” was represented at the EuARe 2026 (European Academy of Religion) in Rome with the panel “Religion and Work-Related Migration: Religious Actors and Critical Religious Perspectives”.
This year’s conference (30 June – 3 July 2026) on the theme “Religion and (In)Equality” provided an outstanding platform for presenting initial research findings to an international audience and discussing them together.
In the jointly organized panel, religious, ethical, and postcolonial dimensions of work-related migration were discussed from an interdisciplinary perspective. The focus was on the role of various actors and institutions in global migration processes—particularly in the healthcare sector—as well as the normative and critical perspectives that cultural and religious traditions offer on questions of justice, power, and vulnerability in work-related migration.
